Stuart Hall School Welcomes GSS for Hovercraft Project
The Good Shepherd 5th and 6th grade boys were recently treated to a fun, exciting, and educational experience thanks to Stuart Hall School and The Hovercraft Project. Stuart Hall invited the boys to their campus for the STEM project where the students built and rode hovercrafts. The Hovercraft Project travels the United States teaching students the principles behind how and why a hovercraft is possible and then helps the students to build and ride their own hovercraft.

Recently, middle school students were able to participate in service learning opportunities with The Green Project at the MESS Lab and with LOOP NOLA. Thanks to the grants provided by the Brown Foundation via STEM Library Lab, middle school students were able to experience learning in the context of service to the community. The M.E.S.S. Lab houses a paint recycling operation where students experience the paint recycling process from start to finish. At LOOP NOLA, students took to canoes to learn about issues facing Louisiana water systems such as invasive species and pollution while removing invasive species and pollution from city park. Thanks to everyone involved for a wonderful learning experience for the GSS students.

Fr. Harry Tompson Golf Classic
The 2025 Fr Harry Tompson Golf Classic teed off on March 21 at the Lakewood Golf Club. Before tee-off, the golfers registered and were given a GSS hat or visor as a special thank you gift. They were also treated to a lunch of fried chicken, lobster mac and cheese, green beans, bread pudding, and corn bread muffins provided by New Orleans Marriott.
The weather could not have been better for a noon tee off. With perfect weather, a clear day, and the excitement to be supporting a great cause, the golfers returned from their 18 hole adventure with some low scores. 100th Day Celebration
Students recently celebrated being 100 days smarter by dressing up like 100 year old ladies and gentleman. Talk about a fun day at GSS!
