Since 2001 our little school has been changing the narrative for its students from one of poverty and struggle to one of achievement and success.  Aptly named by our founder, Fr. Harry Tompson, the Good Shepherd School is much like a shepherd who carefully provides constant, vigilant guidance and direction.  With the increasing demand for equitable education for all, now is the time to further sustain and expand the mission and model of education that the Good Shepherd School provides. Join us, today, in continuing to break the cycle of poverty into which our young people born.  Join us in expanding horizons that allow our children to realize the bright future God intended for them. Join us in Shepherding Hope by investing in the Shepherding Hope Capital Campaign.

As the Good Shepherd School celebrates over 15 years of providing exceptional education supporting New Orleans’ most vulnerable, we announce exciting plans to expand to a new larger site to shepherd more scholars towards hope.  With the success of the Shepherding Hope Campaign not only will be able to serve more children, but our students will have access to school amenities that should be a part of every child’s school experience—such as an age-appropriate play yard, a designated lunch area, gathering space, art room and technology center and more. The Good Shepherd students will be able to more readily thrive in this new school environment allowing them to surge ahead of the academic curve.

100% of Good Shepherd students’ education is made possible through the support of the community and benefactors.  We once again, invite you to join us on this exciting journey by pledging today to support the Shepherding Hope Campaign.  We cannot do it without you!

GSS Mission Statement
The Good Shepherd Nativity Mission School, Inc., seeks to help low-income, urban youth in order to realize their fullest potential as productive members of society by providing them with an extended-day, year-round, quality education, integrated with personal, moral and spiritual development, and continued guidance during the students' further education.

The Judeo-Christian values which have inspired the Nativity model include a respect for the dignity and potential of each person, a responsibility to assist the poor and those in need, a strong sense of community within the one family of God, and the obligation to promote a society characterized by social justice. In this Nativity model, students are enrolled without regard to race, color, religion, or ethnicity.
