Reading Across America
Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The Good Shepherd School celebrated the reading initiatives by promoting reading in children by inviting over 20 community guest readers (i.e. educators, doctors, judges, artists, entrepreneurs, etc.) to read books in all classrooms. In addition, our 7th grade students joined in the reading adventure to read books to students in grades PreK-3rd. Meanwhile, our week-long Dr. Seuss' events included wearing Wacky hats, mixed match socks, pajamas, and playing Dr. Seuss Bingo. GSS teachers even participated in the reading activities.
