Judge Sheppard Inspires
GSS 3rd-7th grade students recently had the honor of listening to an amazing motivational speech by Judge D. Nicole Sheppard. Judge Sheppard, a wife and mother, was elected as an Orleans Parish Civil District Court Judge in 2017. Her impressive background includes graduating from SUNO and the Southern University Law Center, and owning the Sheppard Williams Law Firm. She has also had the rare opportunity of being admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, and currently teaches at Dillard University.
In addition to her impressive legal career, Judge Sheppard has dedicated her life to serving the public and improving the social justice system. She has served as an Academic Committee Co-Chair and Past Board Vice-Chair for the Algiers Charter School Association and engages with youth in various capacities throughout the year. Her message to the community is clear - "we must be efficient, effective, and aggressive to combat the plague of crime and abuse that riddles our neighborhoods."
Thank you, Judge Sheppard, for taking the time to inspire and motivate our students! Your dedication to public service and improving our society is truly admirable.
