GSS Celebrates its First College Graduates
On Thursday, June 29, 2017 The Good Shepherd School hosted a celebration honoring our first college graduates. Special thanks to board member, Danny Conwill and his wife Mary Clare for so graciously opening up their home to us. We are so proud of our first college graduates and all of the student success stories that have resulted from the commitment and dedication of so many to The Good Shepherd School and its mission to serve the most vulnerable among us.
Mayan Sandifer and Tamera Coney, who spoke at the gathering, met at The Good Shepherd School when they were just five years of age. Today, through the nurturing and guidance provided at GSS, they are still the best of friends and have good, viable jobs with bright futures ahead of them.
A couple of our high school graduates also joined us and shared their college plans. We wish them every good thing as they continue to chart their own paths of success. Through Good Shepherd’s Graduate Support Program we will continue to follow them and provide the support necessary to assure their success.
We have no doubt that Fr. Tompson is smiling down on all of us with pride and tears of joy as he watches his vision – the vision of the Kingdom of God – unfold in this time and place. We are so very grateful to God and all of the individuals who have been and are now a part of this vision. We look forward to many more of these celebrations with you in the future.
