Student Service Learning - Brown Foundation 

Recently, middle school students were able to participate in service learning opportunities with The Green Project at the MESS Lab and with LOOP NOLA.  Thanks to the grants provided by the Brown Foundation via STEM Library Lab, middle school students were able to experience learning in the context of service to the community.  The M.E.S.S. Lab houses a paint recycling operation where students experience the paint recycling process from start to finish. At LOOP NOLA, students took to canoes to learn about issues facing Louisiana water systems such as invasive species and pollution while removing invasive species and pollution from city park.  Thanks to everyone involved for a wonderful learning experience for the GSS students.

The Judeo-Christian values which have inspired the Nativity model include a respect for the dignity and potential of each person, a responsibility to assist the poor and those in need, a strong sense of community within the one family of God, and the obligation to promote a society characterized by social justice. In this Nativity model, students are enrolled without regard to race, color, religion, or ethnicity.
